Beautiful little intimate hotel that had great little additions that made our stay perfect! Love the breakfast basket that was left at our door each morning! Loved the robes that were provided! And the ceiling fan was great also, can’t live without a ceiling fan to cool the room.

A beautiful ocean with incredible ocean colors! Fun restaurants and wonderful treasures and beautiful. Walks ! The landscape of ocean and trees and color and cottages is mysterious and wandering around is great fun.. at moments it’s too touristy and some stores are trinkets and expensive over prices ye shirts but there are treasures as well.a sweet Carmel art association building with constantly changing art and some wonderful restaurants . Some great restaurants are belle Carmel neighborhood jewel and tree house and earthbound farm ..amazing flowers and great fresh food ! An amazing place to visit for green and floral and freshest food and gardens! Torro is a wonderful Japanese restaurant near the art association building.. the library is tranquil and inspiring … the farmers market is so much fun! Driving and parking in Carmel is a challenge . The only slight negative is the town itself is sometimes too crowded for restaurants, but we were able to get in no problems with reservations. We found a short car ride to Pacific Grove has a wonderful walk along the ocean and restaurants are great and easy to get in and cheaper. I would say more down to earth. Carmel is a little fancy for me.

Enjoyed the beach but it can be pretty chilly when the marine layer comes in and the wind is blowing in off the ocean - take a jacket! Good variety of shops and restaurants but they can be pretty pricey. Finding parking can be difficult, especially on weekends. Neighborhood streets away from the shopping area can be narrow. Most shops close really early, anywhere between 5:00 and 6:00 pm but that was during the week. They may be open longer on weekends. A lot of art galleries, wine tastings, and real estate businesses.

We were in Carmel as part of a "California Missions Road Trip" with our 4th grade grandson. Carmel is as lovely as ever, with great restaurants and shops, sweet little hidden alleys, beautifully kept homes and businesses. The weather was perfect and it was wonderful to take a morning walk on the beach. We had an excellent breakfast in an "only in Carmel" spot - The Tuck Box, a teapot decorated breakfast-lunch place where the menu includes scones they've been making since 1941! Our grandson said it was like "eating in a fairytale!"

Considering how expensive Carmel is, I thought this was a great value place. The bed was really comfy, water pressure was great too. Best part was that the room had a smart TV with Hulu included too! The hotel owners were very kind and friendly, making it extra special for us on our post engagement trip. Breakfast was fresh cooked for us too! Also was walking distance to good restaurants - would recommend Jeju and Edwin’s in Carmel!
This is a high quality boutique hotel with quaint and friendly ambiance. Great location, friendly and helpful staff topped off with high quality bedding and room affects. Highly recommended
Carmel is delightful to walk round and the beach is fabulous. Hofsas house hotel is charming and the beds were comfortable. Breakfast was continental to take to our room.
