We fell in love with Palermo.
We fell in love with Palermo. The people, the food, the reasonable prices compared to other places in Europe and he history of the most conquered city in Europe, made for a very special visit. If you want flashy then this isn't the place for you. If you want authentic and real life then you must visit. We stayed in the old town where life is raw and gritty, it's not clean but it is beautiful in it's appeal, that is if you have an open mind, understand the history and take the time to interact with the people. We will definitely visit again.Guest review byrachelUnited Kingdom - Review score

Vibrant compact city, amazing market and food scene, historic well preserved Roman theatre, great nightlife with people busking in the square surrounded by cafe's. Well connected by train to places like Syracuse and tours available to Etna from here.Guest review byKarenUnited Kingdom - Review score

There is so much to see in and around Siracusa, we only spent a night and half a day. Was way to short. Just wondering around the city and small Island of Ortigia is a way to submerge yourself into the hum drum of Sicilian life. Visit the Roman Amphiteater and just sit in a cafe and watch life go by.Guest review byFranziskaNetherlands - Review score

We did 2 nights in Taormina, 3 or 4 would have been better. The main street at night is so busy even at the beginning of June, in high season it would be too much. It wasnt my favourite place in Sicily but it is worth a visit.Guest review byDeborahPortugal - Review score
Laid back beautiful village and shoppers' paradise.
Laid back beautiful village and shoppers' paradise. Maybe a bit overcrowded during the day with day trippers from bus tours and cruise ships. Evenings are much quieter and magical with sea side dining and strolls along the alley ways and the obligatory gelato. Plan to make reservations at top restaurants or wait up to an hour if unplanned dinners after 7:30. One dining could be seaside, more expensive but with fresh catch and a great view. (Try Al Porticciolo) Our favorite meal was more local, near the cathedral at Passafiume Cantina. A day walk through the city is a must with extra time at the cathedral. If you visit in a warm month be prepared for crowds but definitely think about some beach time if only a picnic lunch to people watch. It is a 2 hour drive to Villa Romana del Casale to see magnificent mosaics and an incredible ancient palace. Must see! Cefalu is definitely worth a few days before of after the inevitably chaotic but fun visit to Palermo.Guest review byPeterUnited States - Review score

The Valley of Temples was the main attraction of Agrigento as well as the old city center. If you want to pack everything into one day, it is best to start with Agrigento town center and visit the Valley at sunset.Guest review byYINGFrance - Review score

Noto is very beautiful - the creamy coloured buildings in the main part of town are exquisite. There are plenty of great places to eat, and some nice places to shop and staff are generally very friendly and helpful. It’s also a fantastic base for visiting other places in Val Di Noto - Siracusa, Modica and Ragusa can all be reached easily by car or bus, and nearby beaches, the Vendicari Reserve, and quaint little places such as Marzamemi are reached easily if you are driving.Guest review byPhilippaAustralia - Review score
Some good restaurants all very close.
Some good restaurants all very close. The property is near the beach but the sand beaches are about 20-25 minute walk. Don't attempt to get a train from the airport to Alcantara train station. It is quite a walk away from the property and there are no taxis. The bus depots are 5 minutes walk from the property. Here you can board all day trip excursion buses and also the bus back to Catania Airport.Guest review byJackett - Review score

We came to San Vito Lo Capo first in 2019 during the exact same period (October/November). The town was much quieter and many restaurants and hotels/bnbs were already closed then. This time in 2024 it's practically a different place. Still lots of activity, many tourists and most hotels and practically all restaurants/bars are still open. Perfect temperatures, still great for swimming at the stunning beach (wind permitting).Guest review byStéphanieSwitzerland
