The breakfast selections are excellent. We dined in for dinner a few times, excellent as well. Pete, Marianne, Lucas are as accommodating as possible. The best lodging in Douglas for sure.

Located in Laxey, a 2-minute walk from Laxey Beach, Shore Hotel Laxey has accommodations with a garden, free private parking, a terrace and a restaurant.

The breakfast was very good. the technology in the hotel is so over the top. We do not need a toilet seat that lifts up when you enter the bathroom. There were reading lights on both sides of the bed but a switch on only one side which made it difficult for one person to read later than the other but not be able to switch the light off without getting out of bed and walking to the other side and then walking back in the dark.. We could not understand the TV as it was far too complicated

The 4-star Sefton Hotel is located in Douglas on the beachfront. It features a unique indoor water garden, swimming pool and 2 restaurants.

Absolutely nothing. Hotel was dirty. Room needs paint, carpets dirty, elevator only works in one direction. Painful to do all those steps. Getting clean towels took repeated asks. Took three calls to get fridge working. Lights out everywhere. No tea towel. No iron. Staff was very very unresponsive and unhelpful. Hot food on breakfast buffets was lukewarm at best. Heavy dust throughout hotel and anointed restaurants. Clamping was a better experience than this hotel. Sad state of affairs. Stay anywhere else is my recommendation.

We were on a classic driving trip and covered most of the island. The bays /harbour villages and coves were beautiful which was made better having lovely weather. Driving on the roads was a pleasure ( especially the TT route) with smooth surfaces and very few pot holes. All the restaurants that we visited in Douglas and the cafes visited around the island were of an excellent quality. I will definitely return for a further visit.

I have visited the IOM since 2007 and have visited/stayed in Castletown on a number of occasions.A quiet picture postcard place .I would reccomend a visit to the Castle Lovely local shops bars restaurants /cafes. Castletown is the home to The Southern 100 motorcycle races in early July for 5 days each year .so best to avoid if not your interest 🏍🏍🏍🏍🏍 If you're planning a trip to the IOM Castletown is a great base point after arriving on the ferry in Douglas . Various types of stay from Hotel to self catering to Air BnB

Port Erin is a lovely seaside town.

Port Erin is a lovely seaside town. The beach is great and there are lovely walks to go on with beautiful scenery. The shops in the town are good for buying gifts and there's a great book shop on the front. There's a nice cafe and ice cream parlour by the seafront. Also a good fish and chip restaurant in the town. The railway museum is interesting and the steam train to Douglas is a fantastic experience with wonderful views of the countryside. Only drawback is that there wasn't an italian restaurant.

As a central location for access to local bus routes or car hire access it’s great. There is the noise from the airport when it starts it’s day but nothing to disturb a good nights sleep. Ballasalla itself has a local pub and takeaway for local meals. Further north is the capital Douglas or south to the beaches of Port Erin and Port stMary all within 20 minutes drive. To the west up into the hills and Glens to the east Castletown with its own historic castle a town centre wrapped around the harbour . It’s just all so easy.

There isn't much to do in Ramsey in winter apart from a good choice of pubs but plenty of nice walks. Bus service to anywhere on the island is great we did a circular trip on three buses which took up most of one day stopping off in Peel and Douglas for a while.

Great location with easy links to explore the whole island from a quiet base. Loads of walking trails and history on your doorstep. Easy bus and MER links. About 4 miles from Snaefell. Friendly and helpful locals willing to help if they can. Must see the Great Laxey Wheel. We thought it was fantastic. Stayed on the IOM for 4 days and used the clean, frequent and punctual buses to get around.

The whole island is laid back and a gem to visit (when the TT is not running of course). I can imagine how busy it can get at certain times of teh year, but it is well worth digging out. . It has taken me 60 years tio get here. . Too long, and I should have come here years ago! It doesn't matter where you stay on the Island as everwhere is just a short drive away (not a walk for sure), and when the weather is good the mountain road rewards with beautiful views. People are very laid back, so be prepared to relax when you come here.

The Steam Train and Electric Train are worth going on the scenery is amazing. It's cheaper to buy a 3-day pass if you plan to travel on both trains plus you can also travel on the horse pulled carriage.
