FAQs about hotels in Seattle

The Emerald City

Nicknamed the Emerald City due to its lush greenery, Seattle is best known for its great waterfront, fantastic skyline and infamous rainy weather. In reality though, the city gets less rain a year than New York or Atlanta!

One look at Seattle’s skyline and you’re immediately drawn to the iconic Space Needle. Standing proudly at 600 feet, this major landmark features a rotating restaurant at 490 feet and has been featured in numerous films and TV shows, including the classic "Sleepless in Seattle."

The Needle isn't far from the popular Pike Place Market, a public farmer’s market selling fresh produce and crafts from local farms and independent merchants. It’s also the place where the Starbucks Corporation was founded in 1971. Enjoy a cup of coffee in their original store! Seattle has many popular parks and, thanks to its mild marine climate, is a great place for outdoor activities. A visit to Kerry Park to admire the best view of the city with Mt. Rainier in the background is a must!

Arriving at Seattle-Tacoma International Airport, you’re only about 35 minutes from downtown and whether you’re looking for a hotel with free parking or near the airport, Booking.com has a great choice for your Seattle trip.

I was genuinely surprised by Seattle—it felt alive and cared for. I saw crews keeping the streets spotless and volunteers down by the waterfront setting up games, creating a lively, welcoming space. The city had plenty of restaurants, and being right next to the ocean gave everything a sense of openness and energy that made it feel truly unique.

Beautiful, very diverse city with a lot of beautiful sights and lots of things to do and see, but a little on the expensive side. We loved the waterfront and the Pike place markets. Very easy to get around, walk to attractions or take public transport. Expect long lines at main attractions like bay cruises, museums and Space Needle.

Beautiful walk along the water with abundant flowers.

Beautiful walk along the water with abundant flowers. Lots to do -- Seattle Aquarium; Pike's Market with probably 100+ vendor stalls; lots of flowers; Seattle Space Needle; Chulily Glass Museum; lots of eating places at all price points. Ran out of time before our cruise, but there is a lot more there to see and do. Weather was fantastic at the beginning of May -- low 70's; clear skies.

Great eateries, something for all ages, nightlife, museums, nature. Plenty of indoor points of interest if weather is poor. Boeing factory is nearby here. Coffee is terrific. Light rail, buses, trains ferries and Ubers all good options, $3 for the light rail.

Not a city girl, but for tourists it's a great place to explore. Lot's of stuff to do...parking will probably be an issue. Easier to Uber or take a Taxi...even if it costs more. Lot's of historical buildings and underground tours are interesting.

We were returning for a visit after having lived in Seattle...

We were returning for a visit after having lived in Seattle for 40+ year. Was disappointed about condition and cleanliness, international district was filthy and sad, waterfront too crowded with lack of parking that has been removed or reserved for busses that were non existent! We may not return in the near future. Even as a native Seattleite it was hard to navigate. Areas didn't feel safe.

The staff were friendly and the location very central which was convenient. I loved how close Pike Place was and it was only a half hour walk to the Space Needle or Capitol Hill. The coffee in the lobby was nice and I liked that there was a mini-fridge in the room. If you're on a budget, it is a decent place to stay as other hotels in the area are quite expensive. It is still pricey but that's just downtown Seattle for ya.

Nice and clean hotel with an adequately sized double room. What makes this property great though is it’s convenient location to Pike Place Market and the Waterfront. just a few blocks of walking will get you to the heart of this prime area to visit when in Seattle. Additionally, if you are taking a cruise they offer a convenient $15/person shuttle to the cruise terminal.
