Lovely area, we drove around the island, low traffic and friendly residents. Several nice restaurants, however after 3rd day everyone was bagging sand and closing up all locations. Time to go home. Fantastic area with our hurricanes

The beach is great, clean, very local and quiet and it’s so beautiful. No alcohol is allowed on the beach. Very beautiful sunset. Great family friendly beach. Not possible to buy food everywhere. It’s possible to buy food and drinks at the public beach area at Holmes Beach, the food was great at the beach. A bit crowded at the public beach areas very quiet outside the public area.

Goods beach restaurants.
Goods beach restaurants. Easy to get around, clean and well kept. We ate all but 3 meals in the house so we could "visit" since none of us live close to the others. It was too cool to swim at the beach bur we had Frisbees. kites and chairs. It was very pleasant watching sunsets. It seems to be a clean, quiet, community of nice houses. This is our third time there. On a rainy day we went bowling on a nice day played put-put. When heat in pool finally fixed, kids spent a lot of time there.

This is one of the hidden spots that I found on booking.com.
This is one of the hidden spots that I found on booking.com. I was not sure about it when I first booked it but once we arrived and checked in, I knew we would be coming back every chance we get. The downtown area is great and was an easy walk from the hotel. We did not want a massive resort and were very happy with the Bali Hai. I have already recommended it to several people from Atlanta.

I have been several times to escape a week or two of Missouri winters. I love this beach. There is nothing I don't love. The sand is white and soft, the Gulf is beautiful, and warm enough to romp or swim in. The long shore line is perfect for walks. There is a beach cafe with great food, showers, restroom, and changing station. Publix supermarket is a short walk away, and has a wide variety of food. The free trolley takes you anywhere on the island. I cannot think of one thing that would make it more perfect.

Great location, walking distance to many restaurants.
Great location, walking distance to many restaurants. Make use of the free trolleys. The Feast, Ugly Grouper, Sign of the Mermaid and Sandbar for dinners, Ginny's and Jane E's Cafe is essential visit for breakfast.

We loved the location of the villa, so close to the beach with all its facilities and also near to shops ( Publix etc) You could easily stay here without a car and use the free trolley bus which takes you about the island. Nice clean, beachy feel to the decor .Lovely warm pool at the front of the villa still felt private as the street is a dead end so not many folk going past . Felt at home straight away and didn't want to leave after our 2 week stay. Would love to book this villa again !!
Friendly and helpful staff, wonderful view from the room, very good drinks service. We loved our stay, the room was clean and smelled nice. The view was amazing. The hotel is undergoing renovations as is the entire area due to the hurricane, but we still had a great stay and will definitely be back!
We have been traveling to Florida for over 30 years and have rented dozens of houses, condos and apartments. We felt particularly comfortable here because of the cleanliness, the great location and excellent facilities as well as the garage; the handling and contact were exemplary.
Great location, near the gorgeous beach and charming surroundings. We could borrow chairs that we could use on the beach. Parking just outside of the door.
