We used the water taxi and currently they have 2 stops. Be prepared to walk a lot. Parking for the day at Patriots point is 29.50 which seems expensive to me. It's a cool experience seeing such an old historic city.

I’ve visited Charleston on many occasions as I have family there. When I visit Charleston I visit for the history of my enslaved ancestors not the GENTRIFIED NEW CHARLESTON which is becoming a tourist area for white people and erase the atrocities that occurred there

I’ve been to Charleston a few times and will return.

I’ve been to Charleston a few times and will return. The food is generally excellent. There is a lot to see and do. It is a fascinating place with lots of history. Slavery built this place though and there have never been any reparations. Therefore it does feel cursed. I’m an amateur historian and I have had to face a lot of misinformation in various places in Charleston. Tell them you are from the south and see what they say. It is very different from what they will say if they hear you are a “yankee.” I am happy to visit but I would never want to live there.

I love to stay in downtown Charleston, and just walk everywhere! This time, I stayed at The Church Street Inn and I loved it! I've also stayed at The Vendue Inn and at Meeting Street Inn, both also lovely. If you like exploring a town with all its wonderful restaurants and shops, then this is a great choice! And if you like historical sites and beaches, Charleston offers this as well! I love to check out new restaurants. I few of my favorites here are, Slightly North of Broad (SNOB), High Cotton, Magnolias, and Revival. Make sure you walk the park by the waterfront, and if you have kids they love to play in the big fountain there. Or adults can play too! This is a very family and dog friendly town. I definitely recommend it!

We live in Hawai’i so we appreciated the history and gorgeous architecture. The food was amazing and the shopping was dangerous! It was fun to see different beaches and areas around Charleston. We liked Lewis BBQ, Little Jacks Tavern, D’Als pizza. Island Provisions was perfect for coffee, Holey City Bagles for bagels and coffee. We did a historic walking tour which was amazing and the carriage ride which was a fun way to see the French Quarter.

Our time was too short as there were many other activities we would have loved to have experienced, but we really enjoyed just sitting on the benches at the waterfront park, spending some time at the beach in Isle of Palms.

The flat was great in every way. It had everything I needed and was very stylish. I loved the little gift the property left when I first checked in. The location is perfect for bars and restaurants in the evening but it is a 30min walk from the historic downtown. And parking is not great in Charleston so if you want to save on parking charges be prepared to walk or get a taxi.

This is the most we have ever paid to stay in a Holiday Inn Express. It was the weekend and accommodation in Charleston is ridiculously expensive. Having said that the hotel is smart and modern. Our room was spacious and bed very comfy. Bathroom on the small side. Breakfast was good. Location is in downtown but still a 40 minute walk to the centre or $20 plus uber ride

Location was good. Easy access to downtown Charleston. Tourist information centre a few blocks away at the Fire Museum was excellent! You can book most of your tours from that location. Buffet breakfast was very good, and the staff were pleasant and attentive. Plenty of "free" parking.
