FAQs about hotels in Atlanta

Peachy City of Historic Importance

Home to the world’s busiest airport and a vibrant arts scene, Atlanta has an important role in US history. The gateway to the American South, it's home to barbecue and hundreds of peach trees that make it a surprisingly green city.

Hartsfield-Jackson Airport is the main arrival point, and Booking.com has an excellent range of Atlanta hotels near the airport. However, the main sights are clustered around Downtown. Near the gold-domed Georgia State Capitol is Underground Atlanta, a shopping center at the former downtown street level.

Just north are a few hotels near Georgia Dome, a huge sports venue, and to its northeast is Centennial Olympic Park, commemorating the 1996 Olympic Games. On one edge of this park are the CNN headquarters with behind-the-scenes tours. Across the street is the New World of Coca-Cola where you can sample all their worldwide products. Next door is the massive Georgia Aquarium, the world’s largest indoor aquarium.

In the Auburn district is Martin Luther King, Jr.’s former home and church, and a museum dedicated to him and the Civil Rights movement. A few blocks south in Grant Park is the city zoo, and the Atlanta Cyclorama and museum, detailing the city’s Civil War battles.

More national history is in the Carter Center, and the former home of Margaret Mitchell, author of "Gone with the Wind.

    We went for the weekend.

We went for the weekend. We enjoyed the zoo, aquarium, World of Coke and a Braves game. The hotel was about 10 miles from downtown Atlanta but a quick walk to the Braves game. It was a fun weekend getaway. Atlanta traffic is not my favorite but is doable.

I like most things about Atl, with the biggest frustration the traffic. Midtown is definitely the place to be. An option to driving is the Marta, with 2 lines going from the airport to Midtown. Various dining options in walking distance of this hotel, as well as a short Uber/Lyft.

I came for some business meetings, however, I did have a few extra days to enjoy Atlanta. I really loved the place and cultural sightseeing spots. I love the 1) Martin Luther King Park, 2) Jimmy Carter Centre, 3) Beltline Eastside, 4) Ponce city market, 5) Coca cola museum, 6) High Museum of Arts, 7) SCAD Fash museum, 8) Botanical garden, 9) Centennial Olympic park. I was disappointed to find out the Civil rights centre was under construstion and will be re-opened fall 2025. I tried the public transport, didnt feel most safe there, then I walked for quite a lot, it was ok during the day, there were no people on the streets walking, but me and some homeless people.

Atlanta has a lot of activities and great places to eat. Try Eggs and Grits restaurant. Food and service great. Has more than breakfast foods to eat. Unfortunately it rained entire Mother's Day weekend. So unable to walk around. But Atlanta is always a great place to visit.

Booking.com ruined our weekend by not booking the right day...

Booking.com ruined our weekend by not booking the right day of arrival. They booked it for a Sunday, when we needed a Saturday. A few hours after I booked, I viewed the reservation and realized they booked the wrong day. I called Booking back, tremendous problem getting to them, and rebooked the correct day. I had to add another 100 plus, because Saturday was more expensive. No problem expected that. When we arrived at the hotel, they told us there was no reservation. The hotel would not do anything for us. We would not get a refund for them booking the wrong night. We would have to call Booking, Cancel the Sunday reservation and book an additional room for that night. The hotel was zero help. I tried to call booking for at lwast an hour or more. No one evr answered. This was not the first time it was impossible to call a customer service rep at Booking. I'm through with them. Never again. The Hilton staff was awful. The BAR and DINNING ROOM, never AGAIN

I originally came to Atlanta for a work conference but the city completely took me by surprise. Drenched in beauty and incredible history. There’s so much to do and explore. The FOOD! My goodness… you can do a food tour alone! The music scene, the arts. Extended my stay past the conference another 4 days. Definitely returning again.

Breakfast was good though same thing almost everyday. The Hotel is located at a prime area in downtown. The Sentinel Olympic park , World of Coca-Cola, Aquarium were all few minutes walking distance from the Hotel. Overall experience was very good and more than expectations.

There was no breakfast, we made our own. The motel provides a microwave, refrigerator, and coffeemaker. Great beds, and the place was very quiet at night. The big advantage of this place is its excellent location near downtown Atlanta attractions, and the rates were much lower than other hotels in the area.

A decent 4* hotel. The location is very safe (even if distant from downtown), easily reacheable from the metro. The park nearby is so empty that I saw a real night owl around midnight, which was amazing! Comfortable room, solid wi fi.
