Boasting 5 dining options and an outdoor pool, Pullman Kuching is set atop Hills Shopping Mall and is a 5-minute walk to Kuching Waterfront. Free WiFi is accessible from the guests' rooms.

Room was dated but it was still nonetheless very comfortable. Do be realistic with your expectations and if you're here just for a brief stay and plan to go out and about during the day, this hotel is amazing.

Strategically located beside the Riverside Shopping Complex, Riverside Majestic Hotel offers panoramic Kuching Waterfront views. It features an outdoor pool and 3 dining options.

The room was very comfortable with ample cupboard and drawer space. My room, on the 11th floor, had a view of the river, albeit viewed between other buildings. The hotel is ideally located to access Chinatown, the riverfront and with a bit more effort the Borneo Cultural Museum and Fort Margherita.

The location is good. Although it's only about 10-15mins walk to Waterfront but the hotel is within short walking distance, literally minutes walk away, to many eating places. All the staffs at the reception counter are friendly and helpful too.

The Marian Boutique Lodging House features an outdoor swimming pool, garden, a terrace and restaurant in Kuching.

The location, the historical part of the building ( although there is not any narrative or literature about it other then a few unmarked photos). I was a Marian from 1959 to 1964 and stayed in the then boarding house.

Great city to go sightseeing, around it there is tons of nature parks to cover, orangutan center is a must! Most of the parks require cash though. Food street markets are great, also safe for solo female travelers

    Underrated destination.

Underrated destination. We ended up picking Sarawak over Sabah largely due to logistical reasons, but didn’t regret it for a second. Kuching itself is fairly small and quiet, but worth spending a couple days looking around. The Borneo Cultures Museum is fascinating in its subject matter, and world class in execution— great design, well written texts in English, and cool interactive installations. The city history and cat museum is quirky and cute, and there are loads of cat statues around town. The orchid garden is free, and certainly worth a look. The biggest selling point for Sarawak for me is that anything in the Kuching region is doable as a day trip. We rented a car for most of our stay, and went to Semenggoh, Bako NP, and the Buddhist Village, all within an hours drive from the city center, and highly recommended. Traffic is anarchic by European standards, but we didn’t encounter any scary or especially unsafe situations. Just keep your wits about you, and stay on the lookout for motorbikes. Not a destination for a beach holiday, but for history, culture, and nature, it was amazing. About a week in the region would be ideal.

Kuching has a lovely river front, plenty of places to eat and stay. Lots of day trips to places of interest, eg Orangutan rescue, rainforest, beach. Ceylonese restaurant nearby Harbour view was excellent. St Peters Cathedral is newly built and worth a visit. Even if you're not Catholic it's worth attending a Mass seeing about 2000 faithful singing and enjoying a church service.

I love the central location of my hostel. 2 nights was too short. I need one more day to explore traditional markets and authentic Sarawak food. I do not like the haphazard structures along the river walk pathway. There are to too many structures which are blocking the way to walk and uneven bricks. I think less structure along the pathway is better.

Kuching is quiet, but friendly, with a million culture treasures. Sabah has gone to great lengths to preserve its natural beauty and the outdoor experiences are amazing. What I liked best was meeting the local people, like the Iban and Bidayu, who are super friendly and a lot of fun. I rarely take "holidays" with guides, etc., but I can't recommend Sarawak more.

We really enjoyed our time in Kuching and stay at Lima Tujoh. The property is perfectly situated just away from the centre and host Richard was really helpful with suggestions on how best to maximize our time. Semenggoh is only a 30 minute taxi ride and Bako National Park a 1 ringit bus trip away. There are several museums of interest nearby and the waterfront, with all its illumination, is a wonderful evenings sojourn after a glorious sunset. Places to eat? Plentiful, diverse and delicious!

Very friendly personal. We got a spacious room at the front side of the hotel. This can be sometimes a little bit noisy, but we had no issues with that. Delicious breakfast every morning. Bed was very comfortable, and a great shower. With the location along the waterfront, a perfect and comfortable place to explore Kuching.

The Borneo hotel is a veteran in Kuching, now several decades in the business and nicely renovated during the pandemic. It's a competent mid-range option with a good central location - the waterfront and various sights are less than 15 minutes’ walk away.
