As we were there in the summer, Thredbo was far less busy than in winter. This created a very relaxed and friendly environment for our visit.
The main reason we were there was to do the Summit walk - which was great (helped by perfect weather conditions).

We were at Thredbo for the annual Blues Festival. Beautiful location, fresh mountain air, all the staff in all venues were so helpful and pleasant. We had a wonderful time. Even the cold front that came in on Saturday morning did not detract from a great time.

Thredbo is a nice little village and an easy place to get to the top of Mt. Kosciusko from, via chairlift, then a reasonably easy walk for most people (4 to 6 hours return). Unfortunately it caters mostly for the ski season. I was there in summer, to walk to the top of Kosciusko, (which I don't think you can do in winter), and although there were lots of mountain bike riders there using the mountain bike paths and the chairlifts, there were not many shops, cafes, etc. open for business. There's a little supermarket, a pub and at least one cafe. Not sure if the pharmacy was open, as I didn't need it, or if there's a doctor, police, or other essential services in town.

Been here for mountain bikeing before.
Been here for mountain bikeing before. The trails are long and fast. Love the chairlifts. You can even indulge in XC riding along the river. Second time we went for hiking. Did the river trail ahd the summit trail. Despite near-freezing conditions and 50+ kph gusts at the top, the hike was fun with plenty of snow to see and walk on at the beginning of summer. The lake area is nice to relax at.

It was great skiing over the five days.
The Alpine hotel was fantastic and close to the lifts.
The pub was a favorite as there was a great selection of meals at a good price.

Thredbo for the opening weekend of the ski season is a an exicitng, social and scenic mountain get away. Although no skiable snow, which will fall later in June. Enjoy the Ice sculpture and artist at work on a mural for auction, open air DJ. Easy to walk everywhere, shops cafe, ride up the scenic chairlift and gondola. Or have a ride on the Coaster, roller coaster.

The most perfect village stay we could ever ask for. The staff were so friendly and easy to contact. The location was just unreal, right in the middle of the amazing restaurants and a 2 min walk down to the Gondola. The apartment we had was so beautifully traditional with a gas fireplace, huge lounge room and loft, and breathtaking views of the mountain (and fireworks display). We spent each night around the banquette setting playing boardgames which were supplied by the hosts. A simply luxurious winter escape in all the right ways!
The accommodation has everything you need for a stay up the mountain. There are plenty of restaurants and bars close by to dine at and enjoy an evening drink. It is clean, very warm and very close to the entrance to Thredbo mountain. Highly recommend chossing the Thredbo Alpine Hotel as your choose of accommodation.
amazing location and well finished apartment. the furnishings are of good quality and the view from the balcony was stunning. It gave an easy walking access to the Thredbo village
I liked the apartment and being in Thredbo, staff were really friendly. The views were beautiful, and the apartment is well designed, good use of space, and comfortable.
